Yes, there really is a “Chuck”. Charles Rolles graduated from the Cornell Hotel and Restaurant School in 1956. After serving in the Navy, Chuck opened the first Chuck’s Steak House in Hawaii in 1959. It featured a display grill and salad bar.
Ken Williams, a Darien native, partnered with Chuck and in 1964 opened Chuck’s Steak House in West Haven, Ct. The concept was an instant success as customers loved the informal atmosphere, open cooking and salad bar.
With a storied restaurant history, 1340 Post Road became home to Chuck’s Steak House in the Spring of 1968. Today, 41 years later, the tradition continues. Thank you for your continued support.
